Description
The B vitamins support the release of energy for your mind and body. Providing your body with sufficient amounts of B vitamins supports health and well-being, by directly affecting energy levels, brain function and cell metabolism. B vitamins also support healthy immune function and other vital bodily functions.
Mega B Complex helps to prevent infections, as well as supporting or promoting:
- cellular health
- growth of red blood cells
- energy levels
- proper nerve function
- good eyesight
- healthy brain function
- good digestion
- healthy appetite
- hormones and cholesterol production
- cardiovascular health
- muscle tone
The B Complex includes the following:
Vitamin B1, which is essential for energy production and carbohydrate metabolism. The body needs Vitamin B1 to manufacture adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is a molecule which every cell of the body uses for energy. Vitamin B1 can strengthen the immune system and improve the body’s ability to withstand stressful conditions. It helps to metabolise fats and proteins. It also supports the development of a healthy nervous system, and coordinates the activity of nerves and muscles.
Vitamin B2, which helps to break down proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Vitamin B2 plays a vital role in maintaining the body’s energy supply. It maintains the mucous membranes in the digestive system, and helps to maintain a healthy liver. It keeps the eyes, nerves, muscles and skin healthy. It assists with hormone production in the adrenal glands. Lastly, it prevents the development of cataracts.
Vitamin B3, also known as niacin, helps convert food into energy by assisting enzymes. It plays a role in cell signaling, and the making and repairing of DNA. In addition to acting as an antioxidant, Vitamin B3 plays a role in producing certain hormones in the adrenal glands and helps to remove harmful chemicals from the liver.
Vitamin B5 has many important functions, including converting food into glucose, forming sex and stress-related hormones, and forming red blood cells. As with all B vitamins, Vitamin B5 (or pantothenic acid) helps the body to break down fats, carbohydrates and proteins so that our bodies can use them for energy, rebuilding tissues, muscles and organs.
Vitamin B6 assists with boosting brain performance, and encourages the proper function and development of the brain and nervous system.
